Vexen

Original Name: Even Rimewind
Elemental Power: Ice
Weapon: Shield
Number: Four
Position: Head Scientist

Vexen is Number Four in Organization XIII, one of the founding members of the Fangirl extermination squad as well as one of the small group of scientists who first began research into the Fangirl menace well over a decade ago.  He is the Organization's head scientist, constantly researching and experimenting with various things in pursuit of further knowledge about the Fangirls, the Organization's powers, and various other subjects.  Prior to Marluxia's joining, he was also in charge of medical duties for the Organization, patching up injured members after battle and performing routine medical examinations and even minor surgery from time to time.

He is among the oldest members of the Organization and is known for his long, almost-graying dirty-blonde hair, his high cheekbones, and his bright green eyes which often bulge when his face takes on various expressions.  He has a slight twitch in his left eye which causes it to bulge a bit more than the other at times, a relic of an injury sustained in his younger years.  He is rather tall, standing only an inch shorter than Xaldin, though he is not nearly as muscular as Number Three and often stands with a bit of a slouch (especially when wielding his heavy shield) which makes him appear shorter than he actually is.

Vexen is devoted to the pursuit of knowledge above all else, even making understanding the inner workings of the Fangirl menace a priority over simply destroying them.  For this reason, he is one of a handful of members to express great interest in the development of a "cure" for Fangirlism -- a way to revert Fangirls back into normal people, or perhaps to prevent them from ever transforming in the first place.  He comes across as a bit arrogant at times, but can back this up both in his laboratory and on the battlefield -- he was responsible for designing and building both the Dimensional Hippievan and the Fangirl Detection System, and also oversaw the Fangirl Disconnection Project which led to Xion's induction into the Organization and the discovery of "incomplete Fangirls."  In a bit of a contrast to the nature of his elemental power, Vexen has been known to have a fiery temper at times, snapping at those who doubt his abilities and not hesitating to enter battle when he or other Organization members are threatened.  When dealing with those less knowledgeable than himself, Vexen has the potential to be either amazingly patient or quickly irritated depending on the other person's interest in the knowledge the old scientist has to offer (or lack thereof.)  Among the members of the Organization, Vexen is closest to Lexaeus and Zexion, who he often goes to for assistance with various projects.  In the Organization's earlier days, he had a similar relationship with Xemnas, though their disagreement on the best method of dealing with the Fangirls and the way that Vexen has been repeatedly pushed out of the second-in-command spot (first by Xigbar and later by Saix) has distanced them somewhat.  He has grown close to his trainees as well, having a great deal of trust in their abilities in all areas and often letting them operate in his place when he is busy elsewhere.

History

Vexen was originally known by the name Even Rimewind, and during his many years of life he found himself in a variety of unusual situations that would shape his later duties in Organization XIII.  During his high school and college years he took part in frequent boxing matches, honing his hand-to-hand combat skills (which would later serve him well against the Fangirls) as well as taking a variety of high-level science and education-related classes.  After many years of college and several blows to the head which caused him to develop an odd twitch in one eye, he would put boxing aside for the moment and instead focused on his career in teaching.  After holding a teaching job in the same school that Ansem was principal of for several years, he had his first encounter with the Fangirls when one of his young female students unexpectedly cornered him in the classroom and transformed into a Glomper, attempting to drain his life with her hugs.  Even fought back, drawing upon his experience as a boxer in order to pummel the lone Fangirl into submission and eventually destroy her altogether.

Not long after this event, Ansem discovered an injured and amnesiac Xehanort on the school's doorstep, a battered survivor from a Fangirl swarm that had happened somewhere not far away.  The two took him in and nursed him back to health, and soon afterward Vexen -- along with Ansem and the newly-recovered Xehanort -- began their investigation into the many mysteries surrounding the beings known as Fangirls.  This Fangirl research group soon began to grow, first adding the elves Braig and Dilan (who had been researching methods for fighting the creatures) and later the Italian architect Elaeus Sabato and the orphaned prodigy Ienzo Boccaccio who he had taken under his wing.  After a disagreement between Xehanort and Ansem, however, the group was divided; Even and the others stuck with Xehanort and founded the group that became known as Organization XIII, while Ansem set off on his own to develop a different method of fighting the Fangirls.

Upon the Organization's formation, Even became Number Four in the group and took on the new identity of Vexen.  In the Organization's early years he served as the group's second-in-command, advising Xemnas on various matters and heading all manner of scientific testing.  It was Vexen who developed the Fangirl Detection System which became vital to the Organization's operation; previous methods of tracking Fangirl activity were slower and less reliable, whereas discovering a method to lock onto Fangirl energy signatures and track them that way meant that the Organization was able to know where Fangirls were appearing anywhere in the world at a moment's notice.  He was also responsible for designing and building the Dimensional Hippievan, which made it possible for members of the Organization to travel rapidly across the world in order to deal with Fangirl swarms before they managed to cause too much damage.  The vast majority of the Organization's technology was invented at least partially by Vexen, from the security systems and Fangirl alarms strewn about the base to an abnormally-strong set of shackles capable of restraining even someone as powerful as a berserk Saix.  Drawing upon his past experience as a  teacher, Vexen also taught classes on the basics of Fangirl extermination to all new recruits, sharing his vast knowledge of the subject with not only his own trainees but those working under his fellow numbered members as well.

In the year 2005, Vexen and Xemnas worked together on the "Fangirl Disconnection Project," which sought to find out what would happen if a girl was removed from all sources of Internet access after the Fangirlization process had already begun.  The result of this experiment was Xion, an "incomplete Fangirl" who gained Fangirl-like powers and lost her memory, but did not connect to the Fangirl hivemind or lose her individuality like most other Fangirls are known to do.

Powers and abilities

Strength: 7.5/10
Speed: 5/10
Endurance: 6.5/10
Mastery of Powers: 8/10
Combat Skill: 8/10
Defense: 10/10

Vexen's elemental power is Ice, allowing him to rapidly sap heat from his surroundings and gather moisture in order to flash-freeze opponents in a block of ice or generate ice-based projectiles or spikes of the cold stuff erupting from the ground.  As a result, he is immune to extreme cold and all manner of cold- or ice-based attacks, with intensely cold climates actually enhancing his powers and increasing his stamina due to the fact that he doesn't need to absorb nearly as much heat from around him to produce the same effect.  He is also capable of controlling preexisting ice and snow, another reason why his powers are enhanced in colder climates.  An unfortunate side-effect of these powers is his vulnerability to heat, which makes him weaken much more quickly than usual in extremely hot weather as well as making fire- or heat-based attacks more dangerous for him than other members.
Vexen's shield "Frozen Pride,"
with handle location detailed

The weapon he is capable of summoning is a large and rather heavy shield, topped with a series of spikes which make it a good bit more dangerous than an ordinary shield when used to enhance one of his already-formidable punches.  Vexen's shield is nearly indestructible under normal circumstances, with only a sudden impact of incredible force being capable of breaking it; all lesser attacks, even those powerful enough to send Vexen and his shield both flying, will leave little more than surface-level scratches behind.  In addition to using it for defense and as a bludgeoning weapon, Vexen is capable of controlling his shield remotely, causing it to hover at a distance from his body so that he can use both hands for other things while also blocking incoming attacks.

In addition to his ice-elemental powers, Vexen is one of the handful of Organization members who possesses the power to sense the energy of others.  His version of this useful ability works based on sight; simply by looking at another individual for a few seconds, he is able to detect whether or not they have any unusual powers and get an idea of what level of strength they possess.  With prolonged examination, he becomes able to figure out even more about someone's powers, sometimes even accurately guessing what the dormant powers of a fellow Organization member are before they have actually managed to awaken them.

Special techniques

  • Blizzard: A basic ice-elemental technique.  Vexen aims at his opponent with one hand and summons up a swirl of ice crystals and freezing air, which are then launched at their target.
  • Freeze: Vexen focuses on one enemy, rapidly cooling the air around them until they are encased in a block of ice.
  • Iceburn: Vexen alters the temperature of the air below his opponent's feet, rapidly freezing and thawing in order to create sheets of slippery ice that can easily trip up an unprepared foe.
  • Ice Needles: Vexen freezes moisture in the ground, causing it to erupt upward in the form of a sharpened pillar of ice.  If the enemy is able to avoid the first spike, he can create several more in a row by quickly thawing and re-freezing the original.  In some situations, rather than a single spike of ice Vexen will create several at once, or even an enormous spiky glacier-like structure that can hit many enemies all at once.
  • Diamond Dust: Vexen chills the air within several yards of his position, causing tiny, sharpened ice crystals to float throughout the area.  Anyone within the attack's range is harmed by both the ice shards and the extreme cold, if they aren't tough enough to resist it.
  • Freeze Prison: An advanced form of Freeze and Iceburn combined, Vexen initiates this attack by slamming the palms of his hands against the ground, causing a trail of slippery ice to rapidly spread across it and come to a stop beneath his opponent's feet.  Anyone unfortunate enough to be standing underneath the ice will be surrounded by a hexagonal pillar of ice which freezes them in place and rapidly drains their strength, quickly causing all but the mightiest opponents to lose consciousness.
  • Slide Break: Vexen's ultimate technique.  By condensing the moisture in the air around his shield and then freezing it, Vexen creates a massive blade of ice that doubles his reach and makes his shield strikes much more dangerous.  After several blows, the ice blade begins to break, so he shatters it for one final attack that sends icy shrapnel flying everywhere.

Kairi

Kairi is a young girl who lived in Innenjima prior to the town's destruction by a massive Fangirl swarm in 2005.  She appears in Roxas' occasional flashbacks to his life before the Organization, though due to his memory loss he can't remember who she is.  She was also friends with Riku Hashimoto of the Keybearers, who has likely been searching for her over the year that has passed since he joined that group.

Her current whereabouts and status are unknown.

Xion

Original Name: Unknown
Elemental Power: Light
Weapon: Twin Hooks
Trained Under: Axel

Xion is a non-numbered member of Organization XIII, brought into the Organization in the year 2005.  Like the rest of the non-numbered members, her primary job would be to serve as backup to the numbered members on Fangirl-extermination missions and clear out groups of lesser Fangirls while her superiors take on the major threats, though during her time as an active member of the Organization she was not sent on any extermination missions.

She is very young for a member of the Organization -- roughly 15 years of age -- and of Japanese origin, with fairly short black hair and medium-pale skin.  Her most identifying features are her blue eyes, which seem to stand out even more in combination with her hair.

Xion, like Roxas and Xemnas before her, suffered from rather extensive memory loss prior to her induction into the Organization -- so severe in her case that she did not even remember her own name, and was christened with her current name by Xemnas himself.  Unlike many members of the Organization, she does not find Xemnas' presence uncomfortable or unnerving, though she has difficulty opening up to nearly every other adult member, only growing close to Roxas and (to a lesser extent) Axel during her time in the Organization.  She is generally pretty reserved and doesn't talk much, but once someone gets to know her she begins to "come out of her shell" a bit more -- and she will not hesitate to fight to the death to protect those who have fully earned her trust.

History

Xion was the subject of what was known as the "Fangirl Disconnection Project," during which Xemnas and Vexen located a young girl somewhere in Japan who had begun to undergo the earliest stages of Fangirlization but had not yet connected with the Fangirl hivemind or physically transformed.  By disconnecting her from the Internet before the process was complete, this experiment created an "incomplete Fangirl" -- a being with Fangirl-like powers (such as the ability to travel through the Internet and drain energy by touch), but retaining her original form and a will of her own.  After discovering that the young girl had not transformed or taken on a Fangirlish mindset, the Organization took her in, with Xemnas introducing her to the general membership under the new name "Xion."

After officially becoming a member of Organization XIII just seven days after Roxas' own induction, Xion was assigned to Axel for training.  As a result, the two with so much in common -- both suffering from memory loss, both having already taken a new name despite being non-numbered members at the time, both the same age -- quickly formed a strong bond; Xion became one of Roxas' closest friends in the Organization, and he one of her only friends.  Perhaps as a result of her incomplete Fangirl nature, Xion developed powers nearly identical to those of Roxas, with the elemental power of Light and two swords, albeit of a different variety from Roxas' blades.  The two of them constantly competing against each other during training sessions seems to have accelerated their development, causing both of them to rapidly reach the upper levels of power among non-numbered members and making it possible for the two of them fighting together to overwhelm Axel in a sparring match even before their training was officially complete.  Roxas soon began to seek a promotion to the currently-empty Number Thirteen rank (the former Number Thirteen having died in the battle against the very same Fangirl swarm that had demolished Roxas' hometown of Innenjima a month earlier), with Xion insisting that if that happened, she'd have to convince the Superior to add another chair so she could be Number Fourteen.

Things went in a different direction for Xion when she moved on from combat training to Fangirl education classes taught by Vexen, who came dangerously close to revealing the nature of the Fangirl Disconnection Project to a class which she was attending, only stopped from mentioning any specific details by an intrusion by Xemnas.  Xion caught on to the fact that Vexen's descriptions matched her amnesiac state, however, and became overcome by worries that she might secretly be a Fangirl, the very creature she sought to destroy as a member of Organization XIII.  She began to sneak about the base at night while the other members slept, and eventually managed to somehow discover an early draft of the Fangirl Disconnection Project's report, written in the early days when Xion had just been introduced to the Organization and the older members were not yet sure how the experiment was going to proceed.  Upon finding that there had been a plan to destroy her like any other Fangirl if things went wrong, she panicked and fled from the base on her own without telling anyone, stealing a variety of supplies from the storage vaults and then disappearing overnight.

The Organization searched the Japanese countryside for her in the days that followed, but eventually she returned on her own -- worn out, in pretty rough shape, and seemingly not in her right mind.  She managed to catch Xigbar off guard with a sudden slash, causing an injury that took him out of the fight before it started, and then clashed with Roxas briefly before eventually being defeated.  Upon seeing her own blood, she snapped out of her addled state, realizing that this meant she couldn't possibly be a Fangirl -- Fangirls lack normal human anatomy and thus don't bleed, they only spray neon-green sparks when injured.  As she lay in Roxas' arms, appearing to be dying, her body was surrounded by a green glow and she vanished.

Though officially considered to be deceased from that point onward, in fact Xion's soul had remained in the realm of the living, attaching to Roxas as her damaged body faded away.  She dwelled within Roxas for a time, remaining completely dormant until the day of Roxas' first Fangirl-extermination mission.  When Roxas was injured by a powerful Yaoinator Fangirl variant, she suddenly awakened within him and took control of his body, bringing forth a surge of power that let her briefly attack in a blind rage and quickly destroy the Fangirl.  Afterward, she focused her powers onto Roxas' wounds, causing the most serious among them to heal much faster than they would have otherwise.  Investigating the incident, Vexen, Zexion, and Marluxia managed to coax Xion to the surface through the use of illusions combined with a "truth serum" Marluxia had prepared from a mixture of various plants and an infusion of his powers.  After confirming that she did indeed still exist within Roxas, they directed the boy to undergo a program of meditation training, aided by both Xaldin and Marluxia, which eventually allowed him to look inward and communicate with Xion.  After a lot of practice with this method, Roxas and Xion reconnected and Xion began to provide Roxas with boosts of power in battle, significantly increasing his strength as well as providing him with access to her greater mastery of the light-based powers the two of them share.

Powers and abilities

Strength: 4/10
Speed: 9/10
Endurance: 5/10
Mastery of Powers: 6/10
Combat Skill: 9/10
Defense: 8/10

Xion's elemental power is Light, which allows her to generate sudden flashes of bright light in order to blind her enemies as well as surrounding her blades with a glow that enhances their cutting power as well as letting them act as a makeshift flashlight in dark places.  She is immune to light-based attacks from others, which also makes it possible for her to see clearly even in extremely bright conditions as well as forcing her clash with Roxas to be an entirely physical battle as neither of their powers would harm the other.  Absorbing light-energy actually heals her, though unfortunately ordinary sources of light (even extremely bright ones) are too weak to have any significant benefit.

Her weapons are a pair of Chinese-style swords known as "twin hooks," which have hook-like curving tips on the end which allow them to be used in a variety of different ways -- slashing or stabbing like an ordinary sword, catching an opponent's weapon in the "hook" and disarming them, blocking attacks with the guard and then countering with its sharp outer edge, or even linking the two weapons together in order to extend her reach.  Much like Roxas, she is quite skilled with her weapons, though to a somewhat lesser degree.  On the other hand, Xion held a greater degree of mastery over her light-based powers than Roxas, so her fighting style involves a lot more integration between the two than Roxas'.

As an "incomplete Fangirl," Xion also has access to a variety of Fangirl-like abilities, though she usually prefers not to use them if she has a choice due to her discomfort with the idea of being "part-Fangirl."  Much like a Glomper Fangirl, she is capable of draining energy from her opponents by touch, with the draining effect continuing as long as contact is maintained; it's possible that if she had undergone complete Fangirlization, she would have ended up as a Glomper or some variant of that type.  She is also capable of hearing the voice of the Fangirl Queen in her head on occasion, particularly when the Queen is experiencing strong emotions (either positive or negative) or giving orders to Fangirls nearby.  This partial connection also seems to have given her the ability to sense the presence of Fangirls, perhaps picking up on their hivemind voices despite not being fully integrated into the hivemind herself.  The most useful of her Fangirl-derived powers is the ability to travel through the Internet, which allows her to use any Internet-connected device as a portal to travel into the Internet itself or as a shortcut to move from one device to the next.

Special techniques

  • Dia: A basic light-elemental technique.  Xion fires a beam of concentrated light from one of her swords (or from the palm of her hand, if her swords are not materialized.)
  • Clear Light: Xion creates a bright flash of light from either her hand or the blade of one of her swords, which can either be used to blind enemies or snap her allies out of the various abnormal mental states that Fangirl powers can induce.  When focused through the blade of one or both swords, its effects are enhanced, making it possible to dispel not only mind-altering techniques but some which affect the physical world as well.
  • Strike Raid: Xion throws one of her swords and it spins through the air like a boomerang, returning to her hand afterward.
  • Event Horizon: An attack that she and Roxas developed together, and which both of them use.  Xion charges her weapon with an aura of white light, then rapidly slashes at her opponent many times until the strength- and speed-boosting effect of this aura wears off.  If needed, she can dissipate the energy of this aura early by plunging her blades into the ground, causing one or more destructive pillars of light-energy to erupt from below.
  • Ragnarok: Xion holds out her weapons and charges up a sphere of concentrated golden light, then launches it outward in the form of many thin beams (each resembling a more powerful version of Dia) which streak across the battlefield.  She can fire them all in formation so that they act like a single enormous beam, or she can have them change direction in mid-flight to home in on enemies.
  • X-Discharge: Though not developed until after she shared Roxas' body, this technique is Xion's own, as Roxas himself had no idea what it would do when it was used against a Highschooler Fangirl variant with the ability to read minds and alter memories.  Xion (or Roxas drawing upon her power) charges at the opponent with swords glowing with light, executing a cross-slash which causes the light around them to crystallize into an X shape in the air.  Though flashy, this is in fact merely a distraction -- the actual attack is a single slash from behind that comes afterward, causing the usual cutting damage as well as making the X of semi-solid light-energy shatter into a storm of swirling shrapnel that cuts its target to shreds.

Larxene

Original Name: Arlene di Guerre
Elemental Power: Lightning
Weapon: Knives
Number: Twelve
Position: --

Larxene is Number Twelve in Organization XIII, one of the more recent additions to the ranks of the numbered members.  As she has only been with the Organization for a couple years and has not yet found a specific niche to specialize in, her duties mostly consist of routine Fangirl extermination and training any non-numbered members that Xemnas assigns to her, though she will occasionally be sent on other missions where speed and stealth are required.

Larxene is easily identifiable by her hair, which is pale blonde in color and has two "antennae" that stick up and swoop back at all times.  It's unlikely that her hair grows like this naturally, and it may be possible that her electrical powers are used to make it stand up like this at all times rather than something more mundane like hair gel.  Her skin is also fairly light, and she has blue-green eyes.  She is among the smallest in build among adult Organization members, standing at roughly five feet, two inches in height.  Among the numbered members, only the fifteen-year-old Roxas is shorter.  She's fairly muscular by ordinary human standards, though her muscles are compact and springy like a cat's (or like fellow Organization member Axel), built more for speed and flexibility than for brute force and endurance.

Though often (but not always) more serious than many of the other younger members among the Organization, Larxene is still prone to sarcasm and cracking jokes at others' expense.  She is among the most talkative of the Organization during Fangirl-exterminating missions, often snarking at her enemies right before (or right after) finishing them off and bantering back and forth with her comrades as each of them goes about their duty of wiping out the Fangirls.  She has a sadistic streak a mile wide, though since joining the Organization she has mostly been able to rein this in and target these tendencies toward the group's enemies rather than tormenting her fellow members.  At times she is quick to anger, though she won't always show it openly depending on the situation; her trainees, unfortunately, tend to suffer the brunt of her outbursts, particularly Donny Buttafuoco whose misogynistic comments are quick to annoy her.  She has few true friends among the Organization, seeing it more as her new workplace than her new home, though she has opened up a bit more to Marluxia and (interestingly enough) Saix.

History

Before her time in the Organization, Larxene went by the name Arlene di Guerre and worked as a hired assassin for an organized crime family in the area of Chicago.  One day, when returning to one of the gang's many buildings to report back and get paid after carrying out another hit on a rival gang leader, she found the group of hardened criminals reduced to angsty, blubbering emo kids, some curled up in the fetal position and listening to whiny music and others attempting (without much success) to cut their own wrists.  Soon after, the cause became clear -- several Emo Fangirls had attacked, and the gangsters had been helpless against their stereotypical-depression-inducing powers.  Freaking out a bit, Arlene ran away and immediately began to look into any leads on what these creatures were, eventually learning that security footage had occasionally caught blurry images of black-cloaked warriors fighting them.  She sought out Organization XIII, and before long she came across Xaldin and was recruited as their newest member.

Upon being inducted into the Organization, Arlene was assigned to Saix for training, completing the basic combat training rather quickly due to her previous experience and soon learning how to summon her knives and draw upon the most basic aspects of her lightning-based powers.  She soon caught Xemnas' attention and was promoted up to a numbered position, filling the twelfth chair of the thirteen that encircled the group's meeting room; it was around this time that she took on the name Larxene.

Powers and abilities

Strength: 5.5/10
Speed: 10/10
Endurance: 5.5/10
Mastery of Powers: 7.5/10
Combat Skill: 8/10
Defense: 4/10

Larxene's elemental power is Lightning, which allows her to generate massive amounts of electricity and project it from her body as well as controlling electricity around her.  As with most Organization members, this control over her element also makes her impervious to any damage from electricity, causing shocks that would normally be lethal to become utterly ineffective (or even fun!) for her to be struck by.  Absorbing electricity actually heals her, allowing her to make up for her lack of endurance somewhat by siphoning electricity from nearby sources such as power lines or car batteries.

In addition to its combat uses, Larxene's power over electricity also has a variety of utility-based uses and is highly effective in pranks.  With just a minor static shock, she is capable of causing obnoxious degrees of static cling or making someone's hair stand on end to ridiculous extents.  More usefully, she can also use tiny portions of her power to recharge various electrical devices and even interfere with radio or wireless signals by generating large amounts of energy near either the source or destination of the signal.
One of Larxene's knives,
"Foudre"

Larxene's summoned weapons are a set of knives resembling kunai, which she usually calls upon eight at a time, holding them between her fingers in both hands so that she can use them almost like a set of metal claws.  She is highly skilled at using these weapons as both close-up and ranged weapons, throwing them at distant opponents as well as stabbing or slashing at anything within arm's length.  She is unique among Organization members in that her very first weapon summoning called forth two copies of her weapon rather than just one, and her ability to summon more and more knives at a time increased rapidly from there as she underwent more of her training.

On top of her elemental powers and weaponry, Larxene is also incredibly fast, making her difficult for slower opponents to deal with sometimes despite her lack of raw power and inability to take a hit very well.  Opponents on the level of an ordinary armed thug or a low-end Fangirl are helpless to stop her attacks, with the typical criminal's reflexes being too slow to even pull the trigger on a gun before she is already on top of them, likely disarming them with her knives... sometimes literally.  At top speed she becomes invisible to the average person's eye and can even create the illusion of being in multiple places at once through the use of afterimages.  It has been theorized that if Larxene were to train for several more years and develop her powers to their utmost extent, this ability would expand beyond mere afterimages and make it possible for her to generate tangible clones of herself with a combination of sheer speed and electrical manipulation.

Special techniques

  • Thunder: A basic lightning attack.  Larxene raises her hands to the sky and calls down a bolt of electricity upon her target.  Sometimes used by projecting the bolt directly from her hands instead, thought the attack is basically the same either way.
  • Mega Volt: Larxene flings her full set of knives into the ground, then channels a blast of electricity through them.  The result is a series of interlinking electrical blasts which are nearly impossible to avoid if you end up caught in their path.
  • Blade Storm: By running electricity through her knives, Larxene generates a strange electrical current between herself and her opponent.  This electricity holds its victim in place while repeatedly zapping them.
  • Teleport Rush: Larxene uses her incredible speed to get in close to the enemy, then runs circles around them so quickly that she appears to be teleporting from one position to another.  Each time she passes by her target, she slashes them with one or more of her knives.
  • Voltic Rush: An electricity-charged version of Teleport Rush, in which she runs high voltage through her knives before slashing her target.

Xemnas

Original Name: Xehanort Eiyihm Nazo Sahkmet
Elemental Power: Nothingness
Weapon: --
Number: One
Position: The Superior

Xemnas is the first of six founding members of Organization XIII, and the overall leader of the group.  As "the Superior," it is his job to oversee all major operations of the Organization; on a day to day basis, his focus mostly falls on passing orders to Saix (his second-in-command) to be relayed to the other members, calling and presiding over meetings, and the important duty of assigning new recruits to one of the numbered members for their training.  He also involves himself in various experiments, including the Fangirl Disconnection Project (during which he worked with Vexen) and the creation of the Zero Gear technology used to aid new members in summoning their weapons for the first time (which he developed alongside Zexion.)

He has a rather unusual appearance even among Organization members, with medium-to-dark tanned skin, bright silvery-colored hair, slightly pointed ears, and orange eyes.  It's likely that this combination of features traces back to his unusual ancestry -- he is a half-elf, Elveshmean (the race of elves that Xigbar and Saix belong to) on his elven side and Egyptian on his human side.  Standing just a bit over six feet in height and fairly muscular, it seems his build is likely to have been inherited more from his human side, as the Elveshmean elves tend to be shorter and wirier.

Personality-wise, Xemnas is difficult to pin down.  He rarely talks to other members on an equal level, with the only exceptions being Saix (who he can frequently be seen sitting and having a cup of coffee with while discussing various things) and occasionally some of his fellow founding members (though this happens most often while they are working together on an experiment of some sort and thus involves very little normal conversation.)  He does seem to care about the safety of the other members, sending teams to recover lost or injured comrades or even charging into battle himself on the rare occasion that the enemy is just too overwhelming for anyone else, though he demands the respect and obedience of the rest of the Organization at all times and is not above delegating some of the more unpleasant jobs to those who annoy him during meetings.  Though he sees the world around him as heavily flawed (and such flaws possibly contributing to the rise of plagues such as Fangirlism) and sometimes only barely worth preserving, he believes that attempting to fix the problems that currently exist is a more ideal solution than tearing down the current order entirely and starting from scratch.

History

Xemnas originally went by the name Xehanort Eiyihm Nazo Sahkmet.  At some point in his life, he was attacked by the monsters known as Fangirls and as a result of the trauma of this event, his memory of everything prior to being attacked by the Fangirl swarm is spotty at best and nonexistent at worst.  After the Fangirl swarm had ended, he was discovered on the doorstep of a school by the principal, an older man named Ansem.  Ansem and a science teacher named Even Rimewind took the injured and amnesiac Xehanort in and nursed him back to health, attempting to help him recover his memories though never succeeding in dredging up anything more than his name.  Being unable to figure out where his home might be, Xehanort was invited to live in the teachers' quarters in the school, and during this time the three of them began the earliest stages of Fangirl research.

Several years passed, and the Fangirl research team -- with Xehanort now among its leaders, supplanting Even as Ansem's second-in-command -- gradually added more members.  First among them were two elves, an Elveshmean named Braig and a Rurcelan named Dilan; the two had encountered the Fangirls years earlier and had been working together in order to develop techniques for fighting them, using a combination of martial arts and advanced versions of traditional elven weapons such as arrowguns.  Around 1995, they added two more members to the group -- the architect Elaeus Sabato and the orphan and child prodigy Ienzo Boccaccio, who Elaeus had taken in after he had been separated from his parents in a massive Fangirl swarm that wreaked havoc across their hometown in Italy.  Less than a year later, however, the group suffered a split.  Xehanort and Ansem clashed over the issue of how to best combat the Fangirls, with Ansem insisting on pursuing means of acquiring the legendary weapon known as the χ-Blade (which had never been confirmed to even exist) to finish the Fangirls while Xehanort, beginning to awaken the powers that had lain dormant within him ever since his Fangirl encounter, believed that training and developing the power to fight the Fangirls on their own would be the better option.  Ansem, already a bit on edge over their previous disagreements about the origins and nature of Fangirls, was terrified by the brief displays of power that Xehanort showed him and fled, believing that his power was a result of his exposure to such extreme levels of Fangirlism somehow corrupting him.

In 1996, the remaining members of the Fangirl research team, all in agreement that cultivating the powers they were all slowly beginning to gain control over was the best option they had for fighting the Fangirl menace, formed the Fangirl extermination squad that came to be known as Organization XIII.  In order to eliminate any possibility of Fangirls or other enemies targeting the friends or family of their members, the group relocated to a remote mountain in Japan and each of the six took on a new name; while the others' names were simply their first (or only, in the case of the two elves) name rearranged and with an X added in, Xehanort compressed his rather long name into an acronym, taking "Xehanort EiyihM NAzo Sahkmet" and trimming it down to "Xemnas."

In the year that followed the Organization's founding, the original six members worked on constructing the beginnings of their base of operation as well as training to develop their powers.  Though Xemnas was the first to awaken his dormant power, it proved to be annoyingly difficult to master, and he was quickly left in the dust by the rapid power increases experienced by Xigbar, Xaldin, and Lexaeus -- all of whom had undergone some degree of combat training prior to their Organization years and thus picked up their new methods of fighting much more quickly.  While those three members, and later Vexen and even young Zexion, all discovered that they not only had access to an elemental power but the ability to summon a weapon to aid them in battle, Xemnas remained weaponless and was forced to fight the Fangirls hand-to-hand.  As the first new members -- Saix and Axel -- joined, Xemnas took it upon himself to oversee their training despite the fact that he had not managed to summon a weapon.  As Axel's training drew to a close, Xemnas had still not managed to summon a weapon of his own.  Aided by Zexion and using some of Vexen's writings from his research into their powers as a reference, Xemnas eventually came up with a device known as the Zero Gear that would assist new members in calling upon their weapons, speeding up the training process immensely.  It was at this point that Xemnas finally confirmed that his suspicions had been accurate -- he, unlike all other members of the Organization up to this point, did not actually have the ability to summon a weapon.  His personal training from that point onward focused on developing his powers in such a way that he could make up for this deficiency, creating energy-swords through a technique known as "Ethereal Blades."  Now that he had abandoned his futile pursuit of a weapon and instead put even more focus on strengthening his mastery of his element, Xemnas quickly gained a great deal of power, surpassing even Lexaeus within the following year.

In the year 2005, Xemnas and Vexen began work on the "Fangirl Disconnection Project," during which they located a young girl in Japan who had just begun to undergo the Fangirlization process and removed her from all connections to the Internet.  This experiment turned out to be a success for the most part; with the girl totally removed from the websites that had triggered her Fangirlization before the process was complete, she never connected to the Fangirl hivemind or physically transformed.  As early-stage Fangirlization had completely erased her memory, however, Xemnas decided to give her a new name -- Xion.

Xemnas' elemental power is that of Nothingness, a power which is better described as the ability to create energy from nothing.  This power violates the laws of physics in two different ways -- not only creating energy when used, but also destroying that energy when Xemnas no longer needs it -- and as such is among the most powerful and versatile elements possessed by any Organization XIII member.  In battle, he uses his powers to create blasts of energy (most commonly silvery-colored orbs or laser-like cutting beams of various colors) as well as protective barriers, which he also uses to seal off restricted areas of the Organization's base from unauthorized entry.  The nature of his power made it incredibly difficult to master, taking Xemnas more than three years of training to reach his current level of power whereas most Organization members manage to reach a plateau in roughly a year if they're serious about their training, only making very small and gradual increases after that point.  Xemnas is one of a very small group of Organization members who is not totally immune to attacks of a similar nature to his own element, being harmed by the attacks of his Fangirl-generated clone during their clash and even needing to block his own attacks when they are deflected back at him; it's possible that this is due to the fact that his powers generate pure energy rather than any more-defined force, as immunity to energy itself would make him nearly invincible rather than providing him with a high degree of resistance to only one or two forms of attack.

In addition to creating energy from nothing, Xemnas' powers allow him to phase through solid objects, though he cannot do this and attack at the same time since his attacks would simply pass through his opponent (solidifying a fist or foot while partially in an opponent's body is also not an option, as he is unable to make a part of his body solid again if it is still within another object.)  By phasing through another person, he is capable of entering into a mental clash with them; if his will is able to overpower his opponent's, he could even take over their body for his own if he so desired.  He is also capable of levitating above the ground for extended periods of time, with such a high degree of control over his movement and speed that it resembles true flight.  By compressing a massive amount of energy, he is even able to generate a copy of his own body which he can control remotely, though doing so is much more of a drain on his stamina than any of his other powers and he rarely does so unless it is absolutely necessary.

Special techniques

  • Spark Wall: Xemnas generates a barrier of energy around himself, preventing his opponents' attacks from touching him as long as it lasts.
  • Ethereal Blade: Xemnas generates a beam of red energy from the palm of his hand, which can either be launched directly at his opponent or held in place to be wielded like a sword.  He generally wields two of these blades as a substitute for an actual weapon.
  • Interdiction: Xemnas creates 1000 of his Ethereal Blades -- the absolute limit that he can generate at any one time -- surrounding his opponent with a dome composed entirely of these energy blades and sending them speeding inward at them in rapid succession.  This is a technique usually reserved for finishing off an opponent that is already weakened, or for crippling one who is actually managing to give Xemnas some trouble.
  • Invitation to Nothingness: Xemnas creates a stream of electricity-like energy which links him to an opponent, causing pain as well as rapidly draining their energy in order to add it to his own.  This attack is among the most dangerous in Xemnas' arsenal; only an opponent on his level or beyond would be able to escape it under their own power, with weaker opponents being hopelessly trapped until their energy dwindles away to nothing unless someone else helps them break free.
  • All-Vanity: Xemnas surrounds himself with a large, spherical barrier of energy, then attacks either by slamming the barrier into opponents or by using portions of its energy to fire piercing blue beams in all directions around him.
